About as far south as you can go into Bayou Lafourche in a small town, Golden Meadow, rests a shrine built by Joffery Cochennic in 1979-80 to acknowledge the moment in 1974 when the Virgin Mary appeared to him in a local church. Cochennic observed the virgin as being 5 ft. 8 inches tall, with beautiful deep blue eyes.
