The 4.4 acre park, located within a major crossroads of the urban grid, creates a pedestrian friendly entranceway to downtown Des Moines. This accessible setting, coupled with the skilled landscape design and caliber of the art, makes it unlike any other sculpture park in the United States. The Pappajohns’ contribution of 27 works for the park is the most significant donation of artwork ever made to the Des Moines Art Center.

A little rural decay investigative photographing. If you are trying to find this boat it’s beached next to Roadside Daiquiris, just look for the blue gorilla.

About as far south as you can go into Bayou Lafourche in a small town, Golden Meadow, rests a shrine built by Joffery Cochennic in 1979-80 to acknowledge the moment in 1974 when the Virgin Mary appeared to him in a local church. Cochennic observed the virgin as being 5 ft. 8 inches tall, with beautiful deep blue eyes.

I have a slight swinging addiction, I’m okay with it.

“The Red Swing Project started in February 2007 as an urban intervention within the city of Austin, Texas. Our swings are made of red painted wood and hung using retired rock climbing rope. Over the years, we have hung over one hundred red swings in the USA, India, Thailand, Brasil, Taiwan, South Korea, France, Spain and Portugal.”

on the corner of 18th and north there is a building with four walls, but the lack of roof and unquie feeling of space allows it to make the cut

the shell of this building frames a working courtyard with metal works hidden amongst the work in progress. run by David and guarded by Jack.

Research stops robots stabbing humans

“Some people don’t believe a robot uprising is ever possible. But a team of researchers at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics in Wessling, Germany, knows better, and hasundertaken a research project to try and stop robots from stabbing people.”
